Formed in 1945 Futaba Co Ltd has steadily grown and expanded beyond Japan. It now has seven plants and research establishments, and 5 100% affiliated companies in Illinois and Indiana, USA, and in Ontario, Canada and ourselves here in Derby, England. It also has joint venture companies in China, Taiwan, Indonesia and England.

Futaba Co Ltd began manufacturing automotive components in 1948, they also manufacture specialised welding machines, press tools, dies, office equipment and interactive robots.

Futaba's primary objective is "Quality parts at a low cost".

Futaba Industrial U.K. Ltd started manufacturing automobile parts in August 2005 lead by Managing Director Mr Hideo Nakao. We are located in Foston Derbyshire which is 6 miles from our customer Toyota Manufacturing U.K. and about 12 miles from Derby City Center.

At the moment we build assembly parts for the Toyota Avensis and Auris, these parts range from Rocker Inner's, Rocker Outer's, Cowl, and Rear side Members to Spring Support, Wheel Housing, Front side Members and Center Floor Cross.

Futaba Industrial U.K. Ltd is a sequenced parts manufacturer, meaning that we receive signals from Toyota over a network informing us what part they need building and in what order.

Our system then processes this signal and passes the information to the relevant robotic production cell where the operator can see the information on a screen, and build the relevant part.

Our Logistics team then load the parts in sequence onto lorries enabling Toyota to receive the parts in the correct sequence for manufacturing their cars. On average we ship around 17,000 parts a day to Toyota on a 24 hour shift pattern.

Futaba Industrial U.K. Ltd is quality orientated, we have a dedicated Quality Team who perform routine checks on every type of part built, ensuring that the best quality product is supplied to our customer.

We currently have over 300 employees, consisting of Production, Logistics, Maintenance, and Quality members. We also have a Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Planning Material Control and Project Team.

Since the start of production in August 2005 we have grown significantly, but this is just the begining. There is Phase 2 of Futaba Industrial U.K. Ltd which is pioneered by our Project Team. We aim to expand the building making way for new robots and steel pressers which will provide even more jobs to the local community.
